Program Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Develop improved communication techniques and processes to better explain and detail expected behavior by patients with potential sepsis or being discharged with or without a definitive diagnosis

  2. Describe how generative AI and evolving communication practices impact patient trust and safety, and identify strategies to strengthen clinician–patient communication in sepsis care.

  3. Team-based objective: Utilize the new CMS measures to drive improved recognition and timely treatment of suspected sepsis among physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners and residents.
